FROM THE CHAIR

BUS-STOP    I have not heard where the bus stop at the shops has gone to.  If you have it, we want it back.  After all we only had it a few months.  Seriously folks I suspect we'll get it back with the refurbishment.  If not, just like Con the fruiterer,  COMPLAIN LOUDLY

[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]

BURBRIDGE AVENUE NATIVE BUSH LAND KRATAG Has taken an interest in the welfare of and possible use of the small area of native bush land in Burbridge Avenue beside the Burbridge Special School.  Various ideas were proposed for its use or even its controlled continued disuse.  It was inspected a few month ago and was declared to be in remarkably good condition for such a small piece of neglected bush land in the middle of our suburb.  It has a hole in the middle where someone had a cubby house at sometime and was, of course infected with the usual weeds that are to be expected, but it was in good shape.
That was until  recently when three children were seen running away as it caught fire.  The residents of nearby houses were too occupied with the need to save their back fences from the fire, to be able to give chase.  As a result the malefactors made good their escape.  Anyone who has any idea of who may have set the fire is asked to contact the local police.
Instead of a nice piece of native bush in good condition we now have a devastated and blackened wasteland which will take many years to rehabilitate itself.  Because of this mindless vandalism we naow need to completely reassess our priorities and change any plans that we were making. If anyone in Koondoola would like to be involved in a program of controlled weed eradication and development to a useful local park, or helping to redevelop this native bush land area.

FROM THE EDITOR -
Best Wishes Hazel

A valuable long term resident, Hazel Sealander who has been a home owner and a respected member of our community for the past 22 years has decided to move on.  She has raised 7 Koondoola children and one grandson from her Callison Way residence has regretfully decided to put her house on the market for reasons of poor health.  She has decided that now is a good time to travel and explore some of Australia while her health permits.

Hazel has been happy to be a part of the Koondoola Community and has found Koondoola to be a pleasant place to live in.  Hazel would publicly like to thank Bill and Terry, two ambulance officers who came to her aid recently.  Hazel's tribe are Martin, Kaye, Jeff, Robert, KEven, Shari and Laurie and most are still living in the general area.  At present Hazel is receiving support from her sisters.

Hazel is a conscientious gardener and KRATAG would love to see someone else com and keep her place in good condition.  We join together in saying thankyou and wishing yhou all the best Hazel.
