NEXT MEETING

Tuesday the 14th December 1999 at 7.30PM

KOONDOOLA COMMUNITY HALL - BURBRIDGE AVENUE
REPORT FROM THE CHAIR

  Greetings once again and what a hectic time it has been over the last two months.  I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support which you have backed up with membership.  It shows us we are doing something right and without your support we would have little influence as a lobby group.  From the first steering meeting with four people present to the inaugural meeting with about fifty or sixty members of the public checking us out, we seem to be moving ahead in leaps and bounds.

We are still waiting with a certain amount of confidence for news on the roundabout proposals.  Dennis Blair asked me after a council meeting if the residents in the area would mind if they [the Council] moved the roundabout to the busier corner.  Thr next proposal is to have the bus route moved to a more central location.  The last meeting indicated support for a route which is only 158  metres longer than the original one and goes past 70 senior citizen's homes.

If you didn't get the message last month, and you have a bomb in your front yard , you must cover it or incur the wrath of the council.  They have been issuing notices to move bodies but if you upset them they are ablet to give you a $100 on the spot fine.

I have a list on my computer of 143 homes signed up with Mirrabooka Graffiti team to have graffiti removed a it occurs.  If you are not on the list and want graffiti removed [perhaps a new resident] I can arrange to bring you a waiver to be signed.  The council or any other body cannot touch your fence without written authority.

Remember we are only strong as a group so if your want to be an active part of the Koondoola community, come along to the meeting and bring your five dollars membership and your enthusiastic support

Alan Blencowe.

~~~~~Residents Working Together For Koondoola~~~~~
WE THANK SENATOR GRAHAM EDWARDS MP Member for Cowan FOR MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO GET OUR LETTER OUT, WHICH INCIDENTALLY IS GOING INTO THE ARCHIVES AT CITY OF WANNEROO | JOONDALUP LIBRARY FROM NOW ON.
Sorry to mess everyone about with the dates of our meetings, but we had to work around the City of Wanneroo's meetings, and they fall on the first and second weeks this month so we had no choice but change to the 14th.  The same will apply for next years schedule, we shall have to see when the meetings will be at the Shire, [which we always attend] and this will depend on what the New Councillors will decide, as they will be in place by then, we hope!
This will give us a chance to make firm plans for the rest of the year, and of course they will be held every month.  At the next meeting we'll discuss our direction for the coming year, so please put your views forward.  Koondoola will be having quite a transformation, as Burbridge, Koondoola, and Butterworth Avenues will be worked "Over", and will have to be watched carefully so that we don't finish off with a mess like in Girrawheen, and it is getting messy.
I see they have put up the new Crime Stoppers signs, does it mean that somebody in the Authorities actually acknowledges that we might have a Crime problem?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We have paid our due's for the Incorporation, as we intended from the beginning to run our Group in a serious and proper manner, because that is the only way we will be treated with respect.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again I would like to acknowledge thanks to Graham Edwards MP[Member for Cowan] for helping to get this letter out to You,
The Community
and hope for the same co-operation in the
