Child of My Youth
Where are you now
Child of my youth
Lost somewhere how
Wonder of truth
Divine directions have you sown
Windowed the vision of my soul
Weakness nurtured enduring and grown
Did this learning take a toll
Do you still linger
Remembering lessons of a sort
Placed with an inquisitive finger
Gathering your needs as a last resort
Step backward often needed
Bungled steps forward marched
Maybe just more effort seeded
Is there a reason for being parched
Mostly lost hidden in tissue
Pieces built on many blocks
Perhaps is not the only issue
Sturdy boundaries hard on rock
How my memory longing aches
Mindful of every sound
Least yearning young abruptness breaks
Lurking stone silence are you around
Do I see a fluttering of maddening existence
Fundamentals rebounding along the way
Worth the consideration of distance
Making total reality to have a say
Lest to miss life lesson learnt
Tarry not nor stand with thought
Minds pain motioning burnt
Wisdom learning never brought
Loving crying body hurts
Caring warmth one does depend
Master studies in small spurts
Aching arms legs trembling legend
Ever follow meaning steadfast
Reap such as is fading fruit
Always and ever wisdom cast
Youth to maturity still pursuit
