Valentine
As the years like sails billow before the winds strength
Our hearts have mellowed grown stirred yet calm at length
Minds supremacy lingers after the battles done
Healing as always should be with the morning sun
Time may take a toll an accounting on the tree
Yet have we not weathered every fierce and stormy sea
Courage and love are necessities in such trying cases
For the solutions often lie in comforting embraces
Search reveal deep down inside ones self
Stirrings long left listless on the shelf
Tears moments healed with love it could
This day brings memories as it should
Nothing is kept steady and firm on even keel
Unless each one can bow down and kneel
From time to time as it must be one gives sway
To help a partner take time and choose to stay
Life’s many dreams are often unfulfilled
Mountains to endlessly climb emotions spilled
Scar’s ravage every twist and turn yet just one look
Says read me from the past so surely like a book
For so certain as history has passed and left a mark
We could this day go for a stroll in any park
Wander down the lanes of memories misted
While holding hands feel close and uplifted
This poem although strange it may be
Is genuine and given of truth you see
My love deep from my heart comes at a price
I wish that your heart would return it thrice
