A sense of place of belonging is often established by favourite things an identification with what we find comfortable. I guess it contributes to keeping order in our lives and in the world. Highlights can be part of our favourite things and to reminisce about them by putting them in hard copy also helps to create that safe zone and area where we feel warm comfy at home...

A Story about Caring...

Caring for Yourself as well as “Others”...
This is a bit like but not really a warning more like a concern that I have found myself in a position not uncommon in normal life but sadly like all things this also has poured over into internet land.

I spend many hours on the net doing many things helping others mainly but also just talking and looking at interesting things. I came to the realization somewhat forcibly over the Christmas period partly due to over extending my helping and caring at home by letting a relative get under my skin thus putting a strain on my home situation, but it also made me realize that I had been neglecting taking care of myself as well as the importance of taking care of others.

We can so easily forget to take care of ourselves because we get so involved both physically and mentally with helping others in this new vast age of the internet and the ease with which we can help people from far and wide thus it is disconcerting to suddenly realize that one has neglected one own needs thereby affecting others within our own families.

So I just point this out as a reminder not only to show that we are all just human and liable to human weaknesses but also to make an observation that we can so easily become entangled and intertwined and before we know it we may be the best helpers around but very lonely ones, to the extent that we find that we turn from the computer to find a empty home behind us.

So “Please” all of you Take Care to your Families First and then others as the time allows. Oh and by the way my family is currently fine just now but things can so easily change. So “Please” Be Aware and Stand Back occasionally and make sure things are ok !!
